Check out our 10 most favorite baby shower games - some oldies, some with a new twist, and some that will leave the mother with a keepsake of her baby shower! A great way to get the guests to know each other if they don't already as well as a great way to honor the mommy to be, these are 10 standard baby shower games (and some fun variations!) that we like the most. Sing It, Baby!Have guests sit in a circle. Each guest has to sing a line from a song containing the word "baby", and when one guest is finished, the other guest has only 10 seconds to come in with the next song. Each guest who can't think of a song is out; the last guest singing wins a prize! Measuring Up MommyFor this game, you will need a couple of rolls of toilet paper. Have each guest estimate how much paper it will take to go all the way around the new mommy's stomach, and tear off that much toilet paper. Then each guest wraps their piece around her pregnant tummy to see who's guess is most accurate. The most accurate measure wins a prize. Here's Lookin' At You, Kid!Before the shower, ask each of your guests to bring baby pictures of themselves. Lay them out on the table and number each one. Give each guest a pen and paper, and number as many lines as there are photos. Then have guests guess which person at the shower matches each baby photo by writing their name next to the number that corresponds with each picture. Guest with the most correct answers wins a prize. Don't Say BabyWhen each guest enters the room, hand them one diaper pin and tell them that for the length of the shower they can't say the word "baby". During the shower, when someone accidentally says the forbidden word, the person who catches them saying it gets to take their diaper pin away from them. The person with the most diaper pins at the end of the shower wins the game. Wearing A MemoryOkay, this isn't really a game, but it's fun for the guests, and the mommy-to-be gets to take away a keepsake of her shower. Get a hospital gown like the one she'll be wearing on the Big Day, and lay it out flat on a table with some fabric markers. Have each guest write a special note to the guest(s) of honor. Whether or not she wears this when the baby is born, the mom has a lasting memory of everyone who attended her baby shower. Time CapsuleWell, this isn't really a game, either. For when the baby grows up, have each guest bring a timely momento from the present day (a cd single of a popular song, a newspaper, etc.), and put all of the items in a decorated box that says "To the Baby". Then when the baby gets to be 18, she can open it and see what was current when she was born. Baby Truth or DareBefore the shower, write down some baby trivia - some of the trivia should be purposely incorrect. At the shower, ask certain people if these baby "facts" are true or false. If they guess correctly, they win a prize. If they are incorrect, the guest must perform a silly dare in front of everyone. Ducks in the TubFill the bathtub with rubber duckies, a few of them marked on the bottom with a star or a number. Leave a sign in the bathroom asking guests to please choose a duckie and look on the bottom to see if they've won a prize. The Seventh GiftTradition dictates that the woman who catches the bride's bouquet at a wedding will be the next to marry. Not so well-known is the fable that the giver of seventh gift unwrapped by the new mommy will be the next to have a baby. Don't tell the mommy, however, so she can't "plant" the seventh gift she unwraps. Dig Out the PinsFill a large bowl with uncooked rice and lots of diaper pins. Blindfold guests one at a time and see how many diaper pins they can dig out of the rice in two minutes. The guest with the most pins wins the game. Games For Theme Showers |
