It's the baby's first party, so it's cause for a celebration. Fill your Firsts Shower with colorful balloons, streamers, and signs to announce his big arrival!

Attention: Baby's Coming!

Why not lead your guests to the shower with a series of cute signs saying "This Way to the Baby!"? Start a couple of blocks away from the site of the shower, and let the guests follow a trail of funny sayings with balloons attached as guides to get them to the party. Once they arrive, place a sign in the yard that reads "Baby Shower". There'll be no mistaking where the party is!

Floating Centerpieces

Float balloons above colorful weights or baby food jars filled with jelly beans. To make a simple weight, place sand or potting soil in the center of 4" or 5" square pieces of cloth (at your fabric store you can get colorul fabric with cute baby patterns). Gather cloth tightly around sand, hold with a clothespin, and tie off with a piece of organza ribbon. For jelly bean centerpieces, wash the labels off baby food jars and fill with pink or blue (or a combination) jelly beans, and reseal with lid. Tie mylar balloons to weights for adorable centerpieces.

Ye Ole Streamer

In today's race to be the most creative hostess, we have forgotten the value of the streamer. Mixing colors together such as pink, blue, and yellow in a twisting braid makes a cute decoration that can be added to the fronts of tables, hung from the ceiling, draped from wall to wall,or run down the center of a table. Add balloons at either end of the streamer, and somewhere in the middle for extra pizazz.
